Air Conditioning Parts

With global warming, there is an increased demand for air conditioner where practically each and everyone has an air conditioner at home and in the office. The air conditioner is made of three main air conditioning parts; the compressor, condenser and the evaporator. Both the compressor and condenser are found outside the air conditioner while the evaporator, inside.

The concept employed in the running of the air conditioner is the successive heating and cooling of some highly volatile liquid like Freon. What happens is that this liquid is first passed into the compressor where it gets compressed into a gas. With this, there is release of heat which leads to the cooling of the liquid. This released heat is radiated out with the help of a fan while the liquid enters the condenser to absorb heat from the surroundings while reconverting into gas. With this, the surroundings become cool and it is this process that brings about the cooling of the room.

There are other air conditioning parts besides these three fundamental parts. There is the hot coil that is found outside to dissipate heat, a cool coil found on the inside to absorb heat, a control circuit that modifies the temperature and two fans where one is on the inside and the other, on the outside. With the help of a potentiometer, the rotation speeds of the fans are used to modify the temperature with the help of the control circuit.

The compressor is the most expensive and important of air conditioning parts. This is why companies always provide warranties on the compressor where a good compressor can work well and with efficiency for several years. However, if and when the original compressor develops faults, it is possible to buy new compressors and have it installed in the air conditioner.

However when buying the new compressor, make sure it is the same company as the rest of the air conditioner to ensure efficient functioning of the air conditioner. Only some companies actually manufacture their own compressors. The other companies usually buy independent compressors, and then install them in the unit.

It is also possible to replace condensers and evaporators of the air conditioner, if required. Even the cooling and healing coils can be replaced if problems arise because of faulty dissipation of heat. The fans are the easiest air conditioning parts to replace; all that has to be done is to fit them by screws on the outer part of the air conditioner and connect its wires to the circuit board of the air conditioner.

The outer cover of the air conditioner is another air conditioning parts. This has no special function in the air conditioner, besides providing an aesthetic look to the air conditioner. It is usually made from molded plastic and is available in numerous colors and designs. Even the buttons and knobs of the air conditioner are found in plastic, in various colors. and if the air conditioner faces the road on its outside, you will also need to have a water carrying duct installed in the air conditioner to drain the air conditioner water.
